Kobe Bryant Has Been Helping Isaiah Thomas Study Playoff Film Since the Celtics Started 0-2 Against the Bulls

Isaiah Thomas has been reaping benefits from Kobe Bryant's playoff experience with great results for the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics had a rough beginning to the 2017 NBA Playoffs. They started 0-2 against the Chicago Bulls, and point guard Isaiah Thomas has been dealing with the tragic loss of his sister. But since this first two losses, the Celts have won six straight. So how did they turn it around?

Thomas has been working with one of the best playoff performers in NBA history—Kobe Bryant. Since his first two playoff defeats, I.T. has been  breaking down game film with the Black Mamba.

"We've been in communication the last couple of weeks, ever since my sister passed," Thomas told reporters. "He's been a big help since Game 2 [of the Chicago Bulls series]. We actually watched film. He was going over my film with me, and teaching me things he looks at when he watches film. That's probably been a big help for me."

Thomas averaged 26.5 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds and 5.5 turnovers while shooting 48.4 percent from the field in the first two playoff losses. Since his sessions with Bryant, the 2-time All-Star is averaging 28.5 points, 6.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds with 2.5 turnovers while shooting 49.6 percent from the field.

Thomas also told the Boston Globe how mentally, Kobe is one of the greatest.

"I emailed him my film and he watched every second of it, telling me what times to go to and what to look at and certain things I didn't look at when I watched film," Thomas said. "Like I said, mentally you can tell he's one of the greatest ever."

Some Celtics fans might not be happy that I.T. got help from a former Laker, but they can't be upset with the results.
